Atava Garcia Swiecicki, MA

Atava has been paying attention to her dreams since she was a young girl.  She received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University and her graduate degree from Naropa University in the Indigenous Mind Program. The foundation for her professional dreamwork practice was established in the Indigenous Mind Program, under the mentorship of elders Dr. Apela Colorado, Auntie Mahelani Poe Poe, Mr. Hale Makua, Illarion Merculieff, Dr. Kimmy Johnson and others.  Her Master’s thesis, entitled “Journey into My Polish Indigenous Mind,” includes an exploration of her ancestral dreams.

Atava runs her business, Ancestral Apothecary in Oakland, CA where she leads dream groups and works as a clinical herbalist, as an acupressure and Jin Shin Jyutsu practitioner, and as a Deep Genealogy Coach.  She is also a co-founder of the non-profit Circle of Ancestors, whose mission is to help people reconnect to their ancestral traditions.
